Before understanding the working principle and characteristics of the PSA oxygen generator, we need to know the PSA technology used by the oxygen generator. PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) is a technology often used for gas separation and purification. The PSA pressure swing adsorption oxygen generator uses this principle to produce high-purity oxygen.
The working principle of NUZHUO PSA oxygen generator can be roughly divided into the following steps:
- Adsorption: First, the air passes through a pretreatment system to remove water vapor and impurities. The compressed air then enters the adsorption tower, which is filled with an adsorbent with high adsorption capacity, usually a molecular sieve or activated carbon.
- Separation: In the adsorption tower, the gas components are separated according to their affinity on the adsorbent. Oxygen molecules are more easily adsorbed due to their relatively small molecular size and affinity with adsorbents, while other gases such as nitrogen and water vapor are relatively difficult to adsorb.
- Alternate operation of adsorption tower: When an adsorption tower is saturated and needs to be regenerated, the system will automatically switch to another adsorption tower for work. This alternating operation ensures the continuous production of oxygen.
- Regeneration: The adsorption tower needs to be regenerated after saturation, usually by reducing pressure to realize. Decompression reduces the pressure on the adsorbent, which releases the adsorbed gas and returns the adsorbent to a state where it can be used again. The emitted exhaust gas is usually expelled from the system to ensure purity.
- Oxygen collection: The regenerated adsorption tower is re-used to absorb oxygen in the air, and the other adsorption tower begins to absorb oxygen in the air. In this way, the system is able to continuously produce high purity oxygen.
